Use your magic on something else; I am already under your spell

Vamptown in Chicago is staying quiet and under the radar with Vampire Damon Thornheart planning to keep it that way. Therefore, the day Zoe Adams, witch extraordinary shows up things start going bad quickly. Zoe had problems controlling her powers in the past, and swore to never use them again. Her objective was to run a business out of her house, which is fine, until she accidently unleashes the demons from hell. Great, a girl cannot get a break even for one day from her powers.
While Zoe acclimates herself to Damon and their new residence, she finds that Damon is harder to ignore than she originally planned. He has hit all the attraction buttons on her likeability scale and that is tough to do when you are a witch that has been love betrayed. The problem now that requires all the magic in her bag of tricks is due to the demons from hell headed her way. Enlisting enlist Damon to help her send them back from where they came from is proving to be harder than expected physically and emotionally on both of them.
Working side-by-side Damon and Zoe prove to be a force stronger than the evil surrounding them but there is always someone or something that can and will out maneuver you. Realizing the depth of the evil, they are up against Zoe and Damon use their combined resources and show everyone what can be done when powers are used to banish evil.
Spectacular and fresh take on the vampire world by adding the ever-resourceful witch. Wonderful combination of characters and this series is one to read and savor every word.

Zoe is a witch that is afraid of using her powers because her mother died while using black magic and Zoe believes that the same thing may happen to her. When Zoe and her grandmother, Irma, relocate to Chicago, it is a chance for a fresh start but some of the local vampires are concerned that the witches may be in Vamptown to cause trouble. Especially, the new vampire in town and resident demon hunter, Damon. He is very skeptical of Zoe and isn't about to trust this sexy witch to keep out of trouble, especially when Zoe accidentally unleashes sinister forces in Vamptown. The two of them together seems like a disaster waiting to happen but they find that they just can't keep their hands off each other. So now, Damon must deal with sending these demons back to hell while fighting the sexual attraction he has for Zoe.
Zoe was so adorable in this book and I just loved her personality. She was torn between living up to her magical heritage while trying to protect herself from any type of black magic. She just wants to lead a normal life but that is hard to do when she accidentally helps to release demons into the city and she is one of the few people that can send them back where they belong.
Damon is one sexy vampire. With his smoldering eyes and nonchalant attitude, I can understand why he is so popular with the ladies. He has never gotten over his past betrayal at the hands of a witch and chooses to believe that all witches are evil. Both Damon and Zoe are strong-willed and opinionated and are the perfect match for each other, even though they fight it at every turn. They also definitely know how to turn up the heat in the sexual chemistry department which makes this book fun to read.
One of the best things about this book is the humor. Putting Zoe and Damon in the same room together brought out some of the best one-liners that I have read in a while. Cat Devon is an extremely talented author who has created a paranormal world that will not only have you laughing out loud but wanting a sexy vampire of your own. This is one of my favorite books at the moment and I can't wait to get my hands on Love Your Entity which is out in December.

you get a summer blockbuster in The Entity Within!

Zoe and her grandmother have moved to Vamptown. It is not like Zoe had any choice. They had no where else to go. Besides that Zoe did not even know that they were moving to Vamptown. It is just that witches and vampires do not really mix. They are like oil and water.
Damon is the head of security in Vamptown. His number one priority is to make sure there is no trouble. Zoe and her grandmother have barely moved in and already they are getting on Damon's nerves, especially Zoe. He has not felt something for someone in a long time. However he is not about to make the same mistake twice in trusting a witch. The last one he killed.
The Entity Within is the second book in the Entity series. You don't have to read the first book, Sleeping with the Entity. These books can be read as stand alone novels. However I have to tell you that I have book one and after reading this book, I am going back and reading it. While there were characters from the first book that appeared in this one, they did not take anything away from me enjoying reading this novel. In fact, this is part of the reason I want to read book one. Also for your information I started with book two because it sounded more appealing.
The sarcastic banter between Zoe and Damon was great. I could not get enough of it. I almost could have done without the romance involving Zoe and Damon. Not that it was hot between them. So what do you get when you have mix a witch with a vampire and than throw in the mix Zoe's familiar, Bella, a black cat who has a sassy tongue on her and Zoe's grandmother and you get a summer blockbuster in The Entity Within!
