Another great installment in the Highlander series

These books just keep getting better. As much as I enjoyed books 1 and 2, I enjoyed books 3, and now 4, even more. Hayden is your typical stubborn warrior and Isla is just as headstrong but together they complement each other and are a perfect match. Hayden hates all droughs (druids who have given themselves to the devil and black magic) and has sworn to kill them. Isla, of course, is a drough, although not by choice. They are a romance novel "match made in heaven".
This book brings back all of our favorite warriors and equally strong druid women, many of whom play prominent roles in this book which is a good thing, as I love the comeraderie between them. The story picks up right where the last one ended. This is one of those series that you really need to read in order, otherwise you miss a lot, not only in the relationships between the characters but also in the main plot which continues from book to book.
If you've enjoyed the other books in this series, you will love this one! If you haven't read this series but enjoy such series as Gena Showalter's "Lords of the Underworld" or J.R. Ward's "Black Dagger Brotherhood", you will likely enjoy this one too (though, fair warning, there are no vampires involved).

ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT!!!

Begun reading Untamed Highlander the same day as I finished Wicked Highlander... I could not stop myself! This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. Hayden Campbell and Isla, the From Hayden saving Isla on Cairn Toul all the way [ to them falling in love ] at the end. Hayden, having his entire family killed by a drough and his vow to find and kill the drough that did it did not warm up to Isla very easily at all. [ And then to find out that even though they thought Dierdre was dead and now learn she's not! ] My heart hit my stomach!! I was so afraid that Hayden's pride was going to get the best of him. [ I was VERY surprised to learn that Isla WAS the drough that had killed Hayden's family. I cried, thinking that Hayden might change his mind about his feelings... ()] However, Donna has not disappointed me at all here! She keeps on surprising me at every swipe of my Kindle. I have already jumped into Shadow Highlander and am excitedly wanting to see where this series takes us to! [ I really am hoping that Dierdre gets killed soon.... but then I am hoping that her death doesn't make things worse for these men.. ] Also, wondering if we are going to get to see Marcail's baby in these series' or are they going to fade out...? so many questions....

super historical romantic fantasy

In 1603 immortal warrior Hayden Campbell accompanied by the MacLeod clan invade Cairn Toul Mountain as part of their mop up operation to destroy the remaining Druid supporters of the evil dead Deidre. They are greeted by the eerie sight of dead Druids and one severely injured female.
They take Isla to the MacLeod castle to heal her from Deirdre's magical assault although Hayden wants to kill her as he has other Druid droughs who sold out to the devil like Deidre did. However, this time Hayden has a personal issue as he wants Isla, but she also is the devil's minion or as he prays is she?
The latest Dark Sword historical romantic fantasy (see Dangerous Highlander and Wicked Highlander) is a terrific tale of love and redemption. Isla knows what she wants, but Hayden is torn between the soul he sees in her eyes and his centuries old vow of destroying any Drough; Deirdre's evil shadow makes him hesitant to love her but his heart makes him hesitant to kill her. Fast-paced, fans will relish the Grant Druidic mythology as the deep lead couple and the strong supporting cast makes this a delightful thriller.
