The flaps are torn too easily

While this is an attractive book it's marred by poor design choices.
The flaps in the book are made of thin paper that is quite easily torn by the intended age group. My 13 month old twins had this book in tatters within two weeks of receiving it. It's quite common to find them walking around the house chewing on flaps from the book.
A stronger material for the pages and flaps might produce more favorable results - although that would certainly drive the price up. That said, I'd rather have a more expensive, durable book than the item that I currently have.
This book might be useful for parents who micromanage book time, but I found myself working harder to keep the book intact than helping them identify the items depicted.

Awesome book, maybe better for older toddlers.

My daughter loves this book, and so do I. It's bright and colorful, engaging, and has lots of fun flaps to lift, photos, and illustrations that help teach counting and very early math skills. I give it 4 stars because the book says it's for age 1+, but because the flaps are torn easily, I would say it's probably better for 18 months or even 2 years and up. My daughter is 2.5 and these days she doesn't usually tear book flaps anymore. She loves counting so this book is perfect for her. For my daughter, it's a 5 star hit!

Fun book, but don't expect it to outlast your toddler

My son and daughter both love this book, but, as previous posters state, the flaps seem to tear very easily. I repaired several of them with glue at first, but they wouldn't stay and we've since lost them. That said, we loved this book so much we also purchased the "First 100 Trucks" Lift-the-Flap book and my 2 year-old son alternates carrying them around the house asking us to identify the pictures with him. At almost 1 his sister is the one doing most of the flap-ripping these days.
